REACH assists the most vulnerable elderly, disabled and broken families with responsive and individualized psycho-social interventions, together with limited material support; and reinforces and/or creates links with social service and informal networks perhaps spawned of conditions of war, emergency and trauma. The current activities target the immediate humanitarian needs of extremely vulnerable individuals and families in various parts of Bosnia and Hercegovina.
The program delivers social service support in war-torn Bosnia and Hercegovina in a manner which seeks to strengthen community spirit and resilience and rebuild social infrastructure with maximum involvement of local skilled professionals.
Direct services provided include supplementary feeding, basic and emergency medial care, psycho-social physiotherapy and trauma counselling; material aid (blankets, spectacles, wheelchairs, physiotherapy equipment), physical assistance in fetching water, sanitation and fuel, (re-establishing family connections, strengthening the family unit, joint identification of service substitutes; technical and management support for educational and vocational services for youth, local community coping systems, social and community rehabilitation.
