The Byron Teen Council was established in January of 1996. The objectives of the Council are to provide a forum for the collaboration, co-operation and co-ordination of teen issues with community partners such as service clubs, schools, churches and businesses. The Council has established an executive and membership with a mix of the above groups. Its mandate is to develop a program to further enhance any existing teen activities, promote intergenerational activities, community spirit and volunteerism
