St. Bernadette's Theatre is a venture available to students in Metro Toronto to obtain practical experience in drama and receive a credit toward their high-school diploma for their efforts and participation. The program provides practical experience for the students in all aspects of theatre production and performance.
Students are involved as a part of their Co-op Education Program, with the local high schools in the City of York Board of Education and the Metro Separate School Board. The program provides an opportunity for individuals with special needs to gain theatre experience in an integrated setting. All participants have received four credits toward their high school diplomas. A professional director works with 20 students, four days a week, to develop an original piece of theatre.
