Using between 40 and 50 volunteers, FUN WITH BOOKS delivers more than 1,400 book packages per month to preschoolers registered in the program in Leeds and Grenville at no cost to the children or their parents. Each package contains two Little Golden Books, purchased from Western Publishing (Canada) Inc. of Cambridge, Ontario, and a newsletter. One side of the news-letter presents information that encourages parents to read with their youngsters, lists useful books for parents and children, and gives a list of telephone numbers to be used for information or in an emergency. The other side of the newsletter has pictures to colour or a puzzle for children to complete.
