The Community Partners Program is built on the principle that child health is everyone's responsibility. It facilitates formation of diverse partnerships to improve child nutrition locally. It is a catalyst, mobilizing local resources and strengthening community partnerships. The local network is created to set priorities, pool resources and implement innovative strategies.
Its objectives are to improve existing nutrition programs and develop new programs through coordination and integration; maximize use of existing resources to be more cost-efficient and effective; develop innovative policies and strategies to enhance child nutrition; and establish unique, ongoing partnerships with the public, voluntary and private sectors. By raising awareness and utilizing resources in more innovative ways, new programs and education strategies are community-driven, self-sustaining and action-focused.
